Eclipse 2017

Karina started high school today so she had to enjoy the eclipse festivities from campus.

Kevin and I watched the eclipse in Wyoming about 19 miles south of Glendo Reservoir.  We parked off the frontage road next to I-25.

Kevin figured out how to get my phone to focus through the eclipse glasses.

I was having a hard time getting the phone and the video camera to focus while holding the glasses filter directly on the lens.  I finally figured out I could make the SLR camera focus by holding the glasses away from the lens.

 Zoom of the above photo.

Time seemed to speed up as the totality approached.  It was really eerie as the light began to fade.  It was very dark during totality and I couldn't see very well.  It took me a while to figure out the camera settings in the darkness but I got lucky and the pictures turned out great!

The following picture is my favorite near the end of totality.  Again, I basically got lucky on the timing.

One more as the eclipse begins to wane.
