We left LAX on a rainy Saturday. It happened to by my birthday so this would be my second international birthday flight. The first was in 2003 when we brought Karina home from India. Dale, Mary and myself flew AeroMexico to Buenos Aires with a layover in Mexico City. Leading up to departure day, I was worried about the travel experience on AeroMexico, but it worked out pretty well (so far at least).
We had about 4 hours to kill in Mexico City right around dinner time. We thought about finding a restaurant somewhere in the city, but ultimately we decided it would be too much trouble. Mary remembered (from her childhood) that there were taco stands at Terminal 1, but we were at Terminal 2 on the other side of the airport. We found the airtrain and made it over to the other terminal. But after talking to several people, we did not find the rows of taco stands. We did, however, find TacoInn. The were cooking al pastor on a spit. In a word....awesome! Dale and I ate 9 tacos each. I walked away looking like I just took a shower since I mistakenly used the hottest salsa available.
After landing in Buenos Aires, we took a cab over to our hotel/hostel and met up with Nick, Vimal and Hemant. Nick and Vimal had already been in Argentina for over a week and Hemant arrinved earlier in the morning. We got a snack at a shop around the corner and got acquainted/caught up. After a nap, we walked through town on the way to another snack followed by dinner. Did I mention the food here is fabulous? I see getting into a routine......food, walk, food, nap, food, walk, food, sleep.
